Kobe Day 3

Our third day was our final day in Kobe. We got up and once again met Maki and her daughter. We walked to an area that immigrant settlers once lived in. Kobe is a port city so this area of town was quite international. Some of the old homes were still standing and made into museums. We toured a rich German trader's house. It was very nice. Most importantly, it was air conditioned! It was very hot and humid that morning!

We ate lunch at an excellent Italian restaurant. The owner was an Italian lady. She had been living in Japan for 11 years. She spoke Italian, Japanese, English, and French! Wow!

After our lunch, we went to a place that was an old school. It was renovated and made into a artsy-crafty mall. It had neat shops that you could make things in. We just looked around. We saw a very interesting t-shirt hanging at the make-your-own-t-shirt shop. Here, I took a picture of it.

We found a great french pastry place, had dessert and then we had to head back to the train station. I really enjoyed Kobe. It was a nice place to get away to for a few days.
